Ajanta is committed to building strategies, designing and implementing projects towards ecological conservation around ecosystems. She has successfully implemented several pioneering projects for multilateral bodies, foreign governments, national development institutions and state level bodies and agencies.   

She started her career as a government employee which she abandoned long back and is now Joint Secretary and member of the governing body of Nature Environment and Wildlife Society. She is also a member of the prestigious Commission on Ecosystems Management – International Union for Conservation of Nature.

Ajanta did her bachelors in Mathematics from Presidency College.
